Great Friends and Redfish
Great friends and redfish are among some of our favorite blessings. Beautiful skies and warmer temps beckoned us to a full day of fishing. Well, ok, I have to admit that even a cold dreary day calls my hubby to fish, but for me, it takes nicer weather and nicer weather arrived this week. The temps were back in the upper 70s and the sun was glorious on the upper shores of the Gulf of Mexico.
Great Friends
We decided to venture over across the state line to visit our good friends, the Bachlers, who were camping in Louisiana. Like us, they spend most of their time in their RV enjoying retirement. Lucky for us, they love the Gulf Coast and spend several months every year fishing and enjoying the beaches near by.
Great Fishing
The fishing has been a little slow on the Texas side. The redfish have been hiding and my hubby was getting restless, so a short trip to Mae’s Beach was just the fix. The Louisiana coast did not disappoint. The four of us pulled in 7 redfish from 30 to 42 inches, a black drum and Jayne caught a shark! She wouldnt hold the shark up for a photo, (I dont blame her). Needless to say we had a great day with all those huge fish.

The sunshine was marvelous and I enjoyed some long overdue relaxing. The sand was warm and felt good on my bare feet, I needed to do a little earthing. To read about earthing and for a scientific reason the beach is good for you, click here).
We had a beautiful day, but the best part was spending time laughing and hanging out with our great friends. Great friends and redfish, life is good. We are blessed.
