BOHEMIAN STACKING BRACELETS

GYPSY CRAFTS

Hello Everyone! Today we are going to make these BOHEMIAN FABRIC WRAPPED BRACELETS.

The bracelets are stackable-boho-gypsy style bracelets that are right down my alley.

For those of you who don’t know, I am a gypsy at heart. I love all things gypsy-Bohemian and these bracelets are perfect for me.

I first saw these bracelets on Mark Montano’s Channel and was inspired by his tutorial. You can check out his tutorial here.

When I saw Mark’s video, I knew this was a project I wanted to try.

SUPPLIES I USED FOR THIS PROJECT

MY VERSION

When I decided I was going to try my hand at these funky little bracelets, I remembered seeing hubby’s little zip tie stash. I am not sure what project he had planned for them but he cheerfully surrendered them to his favorite gypsy.

I made a little tutorial of my process. You can follow my BOHEMIAN STACKING BRACELETS video tutorial, and you can follow below for a step-by-step written tutorial.

9 EASY STEPS

You can refer to the video if further clarification is needed. I hope you have fun with these.

1. Measure the zip tie around your wrist and add a little wiggle room to it. The 11-inch ties are the perfect size for my wrist. My wrist is 7 inches, but I like them a little loose. I like a bracelet with a 3-inch diameter, so I can get them on and off easily.

2. Cut the little square off the end of the zip tie.

3. Overlap the ends of the zip tie about an inch or so and glue them in place. I used little clips to hold it in place.

4. Next, I wrapped my fabric strips around the zip tie. I put a little dab of glue on the end of the fabric strip just to hold it till I could get the wrap going,

5. Cut a length of wire about 15-20 inches long. It doesn’t have to be exact,

6. Using the round nose pliers, make little spirals on one end of the wire. Curling the wire into spirals will help bury sharp points of the wire ends. I curl the beginning of the wire and when I get to the end.

7. Wrap the wire around the bangle, I do a couple of loops and then start threading my beads onto the wire.

8. Thread beads onto the wire as you wrap it around the bracelet until you get within an inch or so from the end of the wire and make another spiral. The spirals help hide the ends of the wire.

9. You may want to add some charms here and there. Just let go and have fun with it.

ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES

The possibilities are endless with this project. You can make them as funky as you like, or you can tone it down a little. I love the blingy, fibery, mixed-media look of these bracelets. What a great way to use up that scrap stash!

Yep! These suit me perfectly! If you try this project I would love to see your photos.

Those are stunning. I wish we lived close to one another and could spend an afternoon making some of these together. Your color palette is so soothing. Like a trip to the ocean. Beautiful!!

Thanks Leslie! I have to admit we spend a lot of time near the ocean. I surround myself with ocean colors even when I am not near it.

I just love your fanfic wrapped bracelets! Years ago I made some of these using a soft rope to wrap but I like the idea of the zip tie, because their thinner, makes it easier to wear more bracelets.
🌷Please be sure to stop by my Friday features party and share your tutorial.
🌷And let me take the time to thank you for adding my parties to your party page I appreciate that! 😉
    🌷Wishing you a great weekend!

I would never have guessed that these bracelets began life as zip ties! That is genius. I love all the colors and the mix of textures.
