The Grove at Heritage Square is a beautiful little park in Sulphur Louisiana, set in the shade of pecan, live oak, and magnolia trees. The Grove was the second stop of our weekend visit with my daughter and her children.
I had driven by the park several times and noticed the azaleas and rhododendrons were blooming. I thought it would be a nice place for my granddaughters to take some pictures and my little grandson to run and play.
The park acts as a cornerstone for the Heritage Square area that is compromised of the Brimstone Museum, the Henning Cultural Center, and the City Pavilion.
Live Oak Trees and Ferns
There are many small areas that are planted with flowers and beautiful ferns. Park benches were set under sprawling live oak branches for resting and people watching. We took advantage of them and took some pictures.
Water Fountains
The park has bricked walking trails that wind throughout the park. Water fountains and other water structures were found throughout the park.
Some of you know that I paint rocks and leave them in random places, so you can imagine my joy when my daughter found a painted rock in the water fountain pool! She has experienced a lot of medical issues this year and had 4 surgeries before March, so the message on the painted rock was just perfect for her! It is amazing to me that God can use a rock to send love notes to us.
Azaleas and Rhododendrons
My favorite part of The Grove was the beautiful azaleas and rhododendrons that were in full bloom. There were several varieties and all of them were gorgeous!
Great Memories
We enjoyed hanging out in this little park and took a lot of pictures. I’ll have lots of memories of the time spent with my family.
I am so blessed to be able to live this life. We travel, and tour and go on adventures, and sometimes I get to share it with my kids. I am so thankful. God is so good to me.
We spent the first day of our visit touring museums and parks. You can read about the Creole Nature Trail Adventure Point Visitor Center here.
Stay tuned for our next adventure!
