Disappointed?
Are you disappointed? Desperate for help? If there’s ever been a time we needed His strength, its now.
2020 was one of the hardest years on record. It’s been full of worry, fear, and total despair. 2021 and 2022 haven’t seen much improvement.
Our lives have been upended in almost every way. We have spent most of the year in different stages of lockdowns and quarantines. Fear of the deadly virus gripped this nation.
We have been separated from our families. Many of us have lost loved ones, with no funerals, they are just gone. No memorials, no celebrating lives that were lost too soon.
The cost of food and fuel has skyrocketed. How will we make it through?
It would be so easy for us to just give in. Just give up and succumb to the worry and hopelessness.
How in the world, do we keep ourselves from feeling helpless in these troubled times?
I wake up each morning and instantly begin assessing the troubles I’ll be facing that day. I measure them all against my own strength. A practice I find utterly pointless and futile and if I am not careful, I begin to feel my spirit sinking.
But then God…
Joshua tells us to be strong and courageous. God is with us, wherever we go. We will win this race.
Call on His Strength
God goes before us. BEFORE us! Did you get that? He is ahead of all our troubles and gives us the strength to handle our difficulties. The Bible says so!
Deut 31:8 Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.” (NLT)
God knows what we need each day and he empowers us accordingly. The amount of strength He gives us depends not only on our need but our willingness to call on Him.
But the Circumstances!
We can’t let any of our circumstances intimidate us. God wants us to focus on Him, and let Him take care of the circumstances.
In Jesus, we can find strength and hope for a better day. Keep pressing on. The road might be hard, but we win in the end.
Father God, We praise you for loving us the way you do. I thank you for always knowing what we need and providing the strength we need to face our troubles. Help us to remember that you are already there, waiting for us to invite you into our days, and our lives. Thank you for being our strength. You are an awesome God. In Jesus sweet name I pray.
