Sylvia’s story starts here, above all, I am a Christian. I am a truth seeker, a compulsive researcher, and a follower of Jesus.
I don’t always get life right but thank God, I don’t have to.
Christ is my salvation. He is my strength, my comfort, my refuge, and my hope. In Him, I can do all things, and without Him I am nothing.
Grace is one of my favorite subjects. Life is hard and busy, and never like we expect it to be, but God’s grace is sufficient. Join me as I learn to recognize and appreciate God’s amazing grace in everyday life.
I am married to my best friend, and together we have a blended family of 6 completely beautiful daughters, 14 perfectly adorable grandchildren, and 2 beautiful great-granddaughters.
Our Travels
We decided to buy an RV, after a year of traveling with hubby’s job, 11 states, and more hotels than we could count. We loved our tiny home on the road, and got to discover America as we travel from job to job. This life feeds my gypsy spirit! An article about that decision can be found under the RV Life tab.
We have since retired on the Gulf coast of Texas.
Most days you can find me at the campground or on the beach. I love the beach, it’s my happy place. Shelling on America’s coastlines is one of my favorite past times. There is usually a funky, beachy craft swirling around in my head that includes some of my collected sea treasures.
My Hobbies
My life is pretty busy with all my DIY and craft projects. I am a chronic crafter and have 1000s of ideas just waiting to manifest themselves into something beautiful.
I am a completely obsessed genealogist and have been researching my family tree for over 40 years, always in search of that elusive ancestor. Helping adoptees and birth families find each other has been a passion of mine for many years. I have played a part in reuniting several families. Genetic genealogy (DNA) is one of my favorite new research tools. DNA just does not lie!
Another subject of interest is health and wellness. I have been studying non-toxic living and natural remedies. My interest in natural remedies is relatively new and was necessitated by my own medical issues. While, I am not opposed to Western, traditional medicine, I do actively search for more natural ways to heal whenever possible. I believe it is no accident that so many plants have medicinal value. I find it fascinating that many of our diseases and illnesses can be corrected by changing our diets.
This blog is about life, love, and adventure. It’s about sharing what I learn along the way. Welcome to this blog where you will find articles about subjects that bring joy to my journey.
